|Pascagoula Proud—Hancock Bank's new flagship financial center in Pascagoula opens Monday, June 17, at the foot of the Highway 90 high-rise bridge. The 13,500 square-foot location affords local customers access to the bank's full array of money management choices.
PASCAGOULA, Miss. (June 13, 2013)―Back in the mid-1980s, a spry octogenarian Hancock Bank introduced its legacy of integrity, strength, and service to Jackson County, setting up Pascagoula headquarters at a hometown landmark that had anchored downtown since the early Sixties. Next week, Hancock Bank—going and growing at a robust 114—debuts its brand-new flagship financial center at the southeast foot of the Highway 90 high-rise.
Local Hancock bankers say the new 13,500-square-foot, two-story Pascagoula main office is a heartfelt tribute to local people and a solid investment in the area's economic promise.
"Hancock Bank opened in 1899 to help Gulf Coast people achieve their financial goals and dreams. Together with the communities we serve, we've weathered 100-plus years of changes and helped create great new opportunities. This new Pascagoula Hancock Bank celebrates the strong, resilient spirit we all share and the quality of life our city and county offer," said Pascagoula native David Thomas, the bank's Jackson County retail division manager.
On three acres where a local car dealership once stood, the new Hancock Bank at 1010 Denny Avenue opens Monday, June 17. The center consolidates the bank's full array of money management services into one location, including traditional consumer banking, mortgage, business and commercial services, insurance, investments, trust, and private banking. The new building also offers safe deposit boxes, drive-through lanes, a drive-up ATM, and a night depository.
At the heart of the imposing new structure stands a community room available by reservation for local business and civic group meetings.
"We've been part of the Coast for more than a century and Jackson County for almost 30 years. The community room is another way we can give back to the people who have put their trust in us as a bank and as a community partner," added Thomas.
Hancock first occupied its downtown office in 1985 when Pascagoula-Moss Point (PMP) became part of Hancock Bank. Monday's soft-opening of the new location allows bankers to adjust to the move while giving local customers uninterrupted service. Hancock Bank will host grand-opening festivities in July.
Genzer-Washer, Hill, Lipscomb, and Cabaniss Architecture, LLC, of Biloxi is the project architect; J.W. Puckett & Company, Inc., of Gulfport, the general contractor.
